Knowledge is Power

Education Depends on Schooling

Charter Schools Are the Way to Go!

My daughter attended public school for five years, there they said her test scores were among the highest. I placed my child in charter school, they said her test scores were below average. I love education and teach my child at home on a daily basis. I realized something wasn't right. I didn't believe my child knew some of the things she should at her age. I knew I had to take my child out of public schools and I 'm glad I did.
East Oakland Leadership Academy is the charter school my daughter now attends, it's great. For P.E. they go to Karate school across the street. After school the kids can go to a tutor or Chess club. I went to private school, public school, and magnet school as a kid.
In private school I received a good education and I knew I wanted my kid to have a good education too. But the price of Private schools doesn't fit my budget, so I went with the next best thing. The charter school my daughter now attends has only 138 students for grades K-8 which is a benefit.
The staff there are great, friendly people with warm smiles for everyone. I help out at the school when my time permits, and my daughter's teacher is always challenging me to a chess game. When she was in public school there was always a substitute teacher and the kids weren't studying. I love the creed at East Oakland Leadership Academy,"Failure is not an option." If you can get your Children in a charter school don't hesitate, my daughter and nephew attend there together.
Public schools are still passing kids on even though the child may not be ready. If you do switch your kids' school, and their test scores aren't where they should be, don't be upset with your child. Public schools aren't all the same, some may be better than others, but look into charter schools I think there pretty good.

Sports TV

This TV, All Sports, All Day

Man Cave TV for Sports Only

The way TV is set up nowadays you can watch sports all day, every day. Sports center, college sports, and ESPN all you want on your TV, and you just need the right set for the job. My experience and research say go with Plasma. The great debate is LED-LCD vs. Plasma. OLED is new, and might be the best way to go if it fits your budget. Plasma is best with sports because you don't have to worry about the screen freezing or refresher rates. My vote is with Plasma if your main focus is sports. One main factor is lighting. Investing in dark curtains can be a good idea if your goal is to enjoy a lot of sports. So you get the best picture quality you might want to play with the picture contrast, it's a very important feature that controls dark and light levels.
I've chatted with people in Las Vegas where they gamble on sports and take watching sports seriously and the people I spoke with agree, Plasma is best if you can't afford OLED. The Sales Associates at the stores and the people in the Sports Bars agree that Plasma is the way to go.
I also suggest using a high quality surround sound system to get that in the stadium feel. Something in the Bose line that fits your price range might be best, it's what I have and it really makes me feel like I'm at the game. Go with professional installation that way everything gets installed correctly and possibly with a warranty. Like most of us sports fans your going to want to watch two or more games at once so make sure you pick a set with the PIP feature that way you really won't miss much.

Go Hard or go home

I'm going to blow up or burn out with my writing this month I took a huge break on account of some work that didn't get published with yahoo but I think I back with a vengeance.

Back at it

I know, I know, I been slacking off on my writing. I broke my foot and two articles I wrote for Yahoo were declined for pay and publication. But for good news, I got my application for UPS in and have an interview on Wednesday (wish me luck).

I have to find some inspiration to start writing again,I know if I get something else published it might juice me back up. But I been waiting on something to get published for two weeks, and after all the wait I thought I would've made a couple dollars when it went through.... but negative.

Eventual I'll change the dynamic of this blog and it will be all about Logic or something very serious. I might just let this stay my thoughts and create a new one. Its so much I can write about so why am I not doing it? Is it laziness? I'll figure out the answer soon enough

Working hard or hardly working

I turned in 4 articles in one day and I think I could do more. I got my assignments in on time, pretty proud of myself. Even got one in a little early. Haven't had my morning coffee yet. I need more output I don't know what my problem is. I still haven't gotten the hang of this blogging stuff but I'm getting better. I improved on my pages so I think.

Take off

Things are moving pretty slow but there moving, I started my first philosophy piece, it's about time, also I've got two assignments I really need to get working on. My second published piece is doing OK for its first few days. http://voices.yahoo.com/long-dog-leashes-safety-12367129.html?cat=70

I think I'll do my best to finish at least two articles this week,(need a big box of starbucks single shots for the keurig . I really want to write something about the police violence in Oakland, and I will eventually will. Still waiting on the two pieces that were rejected for edits to come back published or not. I resubmitted them last week. It still bothers me no one in my family takes my job as a writer seriously.

I know it may take some time for my writing to pick up, but slow and steady wins the race. My friend girl wants me to find another job, and I probably will but that's easier said than done. People like to pretend to help you, or pretend to want to see you do better but when they have the opportunity to help if their is no direct benefit to them their not going to help, but they will pretend. Not all People.

Some people can't stand to see someone close to them do better than they are doing, or have more than they have. Not all people just most of the people that are close to me.

If any of my Readers can concur please feel free to comment.

The Slow Nickel

The slow nickel, and the fast quarter are bay area terms, and I'll write a article on that one day, these terms refer to how fast you make your money. Specifically the slow nickel being $5'000 and the fast quarter being $2,500 but it also refers to how your making it, so it's a little more to it.  But anyway I had two of my articles rejected because of errors. I knew I shouldn't have rushed, but I corrected them and resubmitted them.

For the good news I got another article published, and I think this one is really good, and yes I do think all my work is really good. I take great pride in anything I do. Visit my other posts to find a web link to my profile.

I'm still working hard and pretty soon I'll be working a great deal harder. I won't flood the web but I'm going to try. It's a little hard on me because I don't own a PC. I'll be blogging off my Android sometimes but bare with me I'll have the meat and gravy out here soon. Just learning the ropes and getting warmed up.

Doubt and stress trouble

When I started working most people didn't believe it. With all the assassinating of my character it wasn't hard for me to except. Finding motivation to write is hard some days, and easy on others. I like my job and writing is the easy part, everything else is hard, picking a topic, researching it and etc.. I need to do some research on TVs so that I can write an article about the best TV for watching sports. (My choice is the Sony Plasma)  but I need to go browse through a few stores.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Work is all that's been on my mind I'm waiting to see if the other articles I submitted to the editors will be published. I interviewed a ex-NBA player and wrote a couple creative pieces. I plan on creating a huge library and I'm glad to have an outlet to share my work. I won't add a link on every post but in my first post The New Life I left links to my profile page and to my first article.

For everyone that's still playing "Angry Birds" the tips could be helpful. That was an assignment, I turned it in late but it was still published. It was OK, but I'll end up writing about everything, from Nano tech to String Theory, and Space Time. Wish me luck.

The New Life

My new job is making some big changes in my life. I'm finding myself to far behind with the tech, and I'm not 31 yet. This is my first blog and I'm just learning the ropes. My first article for the yahoo! contributor network was published a week ago here's a link http://voices.yahoo.com/brilliant-tricks-angry-birds-12340423.html?cat=19 Its for all Angry Birds Players and most of us have slung a few Angry Birds. I need another cup of Folgers.

In this country we have special circumstances for special people and what I mean is being a felon. It's not easy getting a job if your a felon, but it is becoming easier. Technically if your a felon, your a slave. (Read the 13th amendment U.S.Constitution.) When I found this job as a freelance writer for yahoo! I couldn't be happier. I had plans to write a book one day and this just seems to be the beginnings of my journey. If you check out my profile on the yahoo! contributor network,  http://contributor.yahoo.com/user/1780025/aaron_tingle.html
you get a brief picture of the type of things you can expect me to blog about. I have so many interest. Science, History, Business, Philosophy. I have a bunch I'd like to share, my life, advice, failures, and victories.

I consider myself a very ethical person and I look to right, wrong, reason, and common sense for all my answers,(Common sense ain't common) and I probably over think most things. Feel free to contact me or leave any comments, this is just the start.
